Alright, so MAtt Adams and I were discussing Wrestling via MSN today, and he s of the opinon that WWE is better than TNA. I'm of the opposite opinion.
He also thinks that the wrestling moves in WWE aren't fakes, and that's why it's called wrestling, which makes some sense, but is simply false.
Well, I know from experience that it's all fake. I've dabbled in backyard wrestling, and I'm a wrestler for Taylor Allderdice High School.
So yeah.
Settle two arguements.
One: Is WWE or TNA better overall?
Two: Is wrestling fake?
Thanks, Biker

1. I think WWE has got to much like a Soap Opera anymore to like even watching it all. I usally watch for the matches i want to see. TNA is alright but it seems to me like the Wrestling retirement home. Even though dont get me wrong i like alot of the wrestlers on that show. But there ring is wierd and the ropes seem really tight all the time and it just pisses me off.
2. wrestling is not fake its teelegraphed. It takes alot of percision and training to do what they do. You cant say you have dabbled in it with backyard wrestling cause it has nothing at all to do with real Wrestling. Have you ever seen those idiots get paralyzed because all there doing is really fighting and not knowing whats going on. Wrestling needs to be telegraphed in order to ensure wrestlers saftey. Yes alot of guys (most of your big wrestlers) Have the problem f making it still look fake due to choppy moves and mess ups. But there is those guys like (shelton Benjamin, Hardys, Edge.) These guys wrestle and make it believeable. it is all a show who cares if its fake. We all do this so it must have had some influence on us. Why cant we all just get along?!?!?!?!
And thats all i got to say about that.

Celver...taking both sides to both arguements. I see what you did there.
And while it does take percision to do the moves without causing injury, it's still fake. Nobody should get hurt in a WWE/TNA wrestling match.

Question #1. Which is better?? Does it really matter?? It's all a matter of opinion. Example, which taste better?? Apples or Oranges?? They are both fruit, they are both sweet, but I prefer Apples, my kids love Oranges more. Does it matter?? Not really!! Question #2. Is it fake?? Yes it is. The matches are planned ahead of time. Who does a particular move and at what time, and what the reaction from the other wrestler is going to be. There are little to no surprises to the wrestlers in a match. Years ago, Undertaker's Tombstone was final. No one got up from it. It isn't a traumatic move, it just hurts a little, but it doesn't knock anybody out. It isn't dangerous, fatal or final. As for injuries. It happens. Here's an example. Joey Mercury InjuryNo matter how well you plan, things can still go wrong.

You're completely right, Arc, which is why I said nobody should get hurt.

watching wrestling is just like watching any action movie, its scripted, planned fighting, sure some improv may be used here and there (i find it hard to believe that EVERY move and stuff is planned) but its mostly just a show, thats why they call it Wrestling ENTERTAINMENT, if you wanna see real fights, go to the nearest ghetto and tape a sign that says "I HATE *insert Minority here*" and you will see real fights
as for tna v.s. wwe i havent watched wrestling for about a year now so idc either way

First question: Well i like WWE better TNA seems weird to me, plus i've got used to see all those WWE guys and like it or not i get to see it sometimes, as for TNA a watched it for a while, and it just didn't make that click.
Second question: Of course it's fake. The matches are allready planed out, didn't you ever saw a wrestler in a certain position waiting for the other? Plus it's all about the booking, they already know who's the winner. As for the moves...well...sometimes there are some very stiff wrestlers. Even the blood is staged, they make small cuts to ease the bleed and the sweat gives you the impresion that more blood is coming out, i'm not saying that the blood is faked, but sometimes it's made that way.

1. TNA is better than WWE,but WSX is better than both TNA and WWE. 2. it is fake when the wrestlers get clotheslined and stuff because the through themselves. When the wrestlers get slammed onto the mat its real. When they get hit with chairs and put through tables its real. The wrestlers just know how to land the right way so they avoid serious injuries.

1. WSX is the only thing on the planet worse than WWE. 2. The mat is padded, so unless tehy land on their neck, not much harm can be done in the first place. The tables are breakaway, and the chairs are made of thinner metal.

1. Production and money wise TNA can't keep up. they have one hour a week while WWE has 5. While I thoroughly enjoy impact every week and like Christian better than Cena or Batista at this point it goes to WWE, but down the road who knows?
2. Fake isn't a word you should use if you were talking to a real wrestler. I had a guy almost rip my head off for asking that. The matches are planned and scripted, but the term fake is quite offensive to wrestlers.

No, I'm a real wrestler. As in "freestyle" type wrestling. The stuff Kurt Angle won a gold medal for.
And actors aknowledge that their movies are fake, why can't wrestlers aknowledge their matches are?

I was saying it was fake because they have every single thing planned out, some moves are real.

ok I have to comment.
1) depends on the person
2) As some of you are aware until recently I wrestled for SJMW. I've been with two companies and both have different styles. GWE was telegraphed whilst SJMW was not. At SJMW wrestlers were trained to use a system of communication which is very subtle. All we were told is to make sure X wins and do it in an entertaining way. This system made it easiar for fans to choose matches as they did. I didn't know until i was called out at old school that i was facing Simon Williams in a hardcore match. During that type of match we decided who won. no one else had a choice in the matter. So answer to two is both.
