We’re backstage at a CRF Event. Nail is hanging around backstage, leeching after his career has careened for the worse. He’s technically not employed here anymore, but we all know that means nothing. We all know that the people who have been fired will always end up wrestling at CRF again sooner or later. He’s talking to people, meaningless workers, laughing, joking, not realizing exactly how heavy a situation he is in, and how wrong he is in his thoughts of solution. They’re still talking. Wait, they’re leaving, and Nail’s hanging behind. Quick! APPROACH HIM!
Hello Nail.
Nail: Woah! Who the hell are you?!
He inspects me, and the ridiculous attire that I’m wearing in order to conceal myself. I can see the realization in his eyes.
Wait, you’re that Mystery Man! I’ve heard about all that trouble you’ve been causing people. If the rumors in the locker room are to be believed, you’ll be returning soon. Is that correct?
I’m not the one being Questioned here, Nail.
So that’s a yes. They say you’ll cause trouble when your return. People anticipate it, others fear it. Me? I’m curious. When they say you’ll cause trouble, I want to know who you’ll cause trouble for.
I’ll be causing trouble for anyone hurting CRF. Which may include you if you don’t hear me out.
What on earth are you talking about? I’m trying to save CRF! I’d be able to do it better if they’d let me wrestle…
Let me ask you a question. Do you love CRF?
What?
Do you love CRF?
Of course I do, but-
When you sleep at night, and think of its future, what do you see? Do you see the old ways of Fighter-X still burning strong in his absence, or do you see the tyrannical fist of Draven crushing everything that CRF once stood for?
I try to imgine the first, but these days, I don’t know…
Do you know what I see when I look to the future of CRF?
He looks at me quizzically, almost as though he doesn’t know whether to question me or not. I continue onward, greatful that he isn’t interrupting me…yet.
I see a new era of CRF, one that shines just as bright, if not brighter than the past. One of order, born of chaos, and one where competition is stronger than ever. ‘Survival of the fittest’ is the new Creedo of CRF, and it’s a magical one indeed. The fans cheer, the wrestlers ache, but ache with passion, glory, and honor. But the thing is, Nail, I cannot form this new CRF if you keep trying to preserve the old doctrine. Do you understand me?
What the- What- Eh?
I don’t have time to explain. You’ll find out in due time. A new era of CRF is on the horizon, and if my plan works out properly, it will be perfect. But if you and Draven keep butting heads like angry mules, then you’ll find that there is no harmonious nirvana, but rather evil absolutes. Do you understand?
I, Listen, I stand for-
You don’t need to explain your position, you just need to listen. Your actions will determine your choice. I’ll be watching.
And in a flash, I disappear. I’m faster than I remember being… My rapid disappearance seems to have spooked the Hardcore Hero. I can see Nail from my position, but he cannot see me, and he won’t again for a while. Hopefully he’ll heed my advice. But knowing him like I have over the years, he never will. Ever since his debut at Judgement I’ve never been able to convince him of his error, regardless of how wrong he was. It doesn’t matter. Even if he doesn’t listen, I can at least be greatful that this first confrontation went smoothly. I fear the others won’t be quite so… painless.
